Is there a BIG difference?

Is there a big difference between having a SAT score of 2250 with a break down of:

CR- 690
M- 780
W- 780

and a SAT score of 2250 with a break down of:

CR- 750
M- 780
W- 720

Does writing truly not matter? (I have the 1st score.. my CR score is low)

Should I take the SAT one last time in Dec. (I'm a senior) and try to improve my CR or should I leave it be? (I'm applying to top schools)

Leave it be!

Leave it alone! When they superscore it, it'll be awesome and can't possibly hurt you!

Yeah if you are applying to top schools, then take it one more time[ read a lot between now and then!], as many schools do not even use the writing score, and few consider it as important as the M or CR scores.

dvm258, I don't have the second score... I only have a 690 in CR.

I'm thinking I should retake because my Math and Writing scores won't go down (my math is always 780-800, and writing is always 750+)... it's just having a CR score below 700 may seem a little off to colleges compared to my high writing score.

I have nothing to lose, right?

Right, unless the thought of spending 4 hrs on a Sat in Dec taking a test will freak you out. If you prepare yourself, sleep well the night before, have a good brkfst and have snacks & cokes to keep you going through the whole test, you have nothing to lose.

Your CR score is not low by any means...

Because 20 points would make a world of a difference on getting into college :D
