Does my math SAT score have to match writing/CR?

My college counselor told me that I should retake the SAT because my math score is a 670 while my CR is 780 and my Writing is 770. Will colleges think badly of me if my math is bad compared to my verbal stuff? I don't know how much I could pull my math score up. I seem to have hit a wall (my PSATs were 52 :P, 65, 66).

thanks!

If I were you i wouldn't retake it. You did great this time. its 2220. If you retake it keep in mind that you wont necessarily do better so the score may go down

Doesn't matter if you don't do better overall, just as long as you do better in math. Colleges superscore, meaning that they take the best scores from each of your categories. I would retake it.

My son in similar situation. He score CR- 780, Writing 760 and math 670 total 2210 . I plan to have retake SAT again to increase in his Math score.

You should first check to see if your colleges superscore. If they do, then you should probably retake it and if not then I guess it comes down to whether you think you can do better overall on your second try.

See about the superscoring, as others said above. Then, see if you can improve your math over the summer. If you really feel like you'll do worse, it might be better to stick with what you've got. However, if you can perfect your understanding of math concepts and your practice tests get better, it might be worth taking again.
It does also depend on what schools you are applying to. If they've got much higher SAT medians than you got, trying again would be a good idea.

Well you don't want to go down in math either. So, you should think about sending these scores out to the colleges, so that if you don't do well and decide not to send the second scores in, the colleges don't see them. My son had an 800 in cr, 800 writing and 690 in math. He is a freshman at Princeton.
