Hello everyone. I was posted on this forum last year when I applied to NC State the first time around. I was planning to transfer over to the university after completing my associates degree at a local community college, but NC State deferred me until I could send in final transcripts from the courses I had taken back in spring semester. I failed the only course I needed to graduate with an Associates of Science degree (Brief Calculus) and didn't think I would be accepted into my degree program (Biological Sciences) if I sent in the transcripts with the one F and didn't even complete the math requirement for the program. I was also under a time crunch because I would have been using the GI Bill to pay for my tuition, meaning that I would have to send numerous amount of paperwork to Veterans' Affairs, and also find a place to live, and so on.

I ended up taking classes at my community college again and hoping to transfer this upcoming year, but I am stressed out because my credentials are not very competitive. I have a 2.7 GPA right now, with 65 credits (61 are transferable), retaking General Chemistry I (I failed that course my first year of school) and College Physics I. I am doing relatively well in both courses. Next semester, I am taking General Chemistry II, College Physics II, and Microbiology. Is there any way I can raise my GPA to at least a 3.0 if I do well in these classes? I am also going to take the Calculus CLEP exam in a couple months so I can finally get my associates degree and satisfy the mathematics requirement for NC State.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
