I'm considering an Econ Major - I'm taking AP econ in high school now and I find it really fascinating. In researching what one does with an econ degree, I've found many people suggesting econ degrees are excellent as they can lead to a variety of jobs, but is there a job where I would be doing what I'm learning how to do in my econ class? (Using demand curves to find prices etc. - I'm presume much of the basic stuff is done by computer but this type of thing at least?) Is that the job of an economist - or what is the job where you "do econ"?

P.S. I've also read it would depend upon where you go to school - I'm looking at fairly selective colleges - USC, Notre Dame, Columbia, U Virginia, etc.
