The school is beyond beautiful and has an awesome business program. The only thing that sorta weirds me out is that I haven't heard anyone rave about how much they love it here.... I'm an oos but I applied to some other colleges were I received a lot more positive comments about it. I haven't talked to tons so I could have just talked to the wrong people? So this sounds like a weird question... but do people love this school who go there?

Well I have lived here my whole life and will be a freshman next year, and I can say that this school has a lot of pride. I tell everyone that is thinking about coming here that I absolutely love it here. Also, tailgating at Carolina football games is one of the best experiences ever haha

haha. This question makes me laugh as an in-state student.

School pride? It’s more like state-pride. EVERYONE in South Carolina is either Clemson or Carolina. You have a side whether or not you have any connection to either school.

At school, we can break our dress code to dress for our “team” on the day before the Clemson-Carolina game.

Clemson and Carolina merchandise is EVERYWHERE.

The football games are TONS of fun, especially right now with USC having such a good team. (Lattimore and Clowney!! =))

Anyways… That being said… There is a LOT of pride in Carolina and a LOT of school spirit. XD

Everyone I know who has gone to Carolina has loved it… so yeah.

As you can tell, I’m pretty stoked to be going there. Part of the reason I chose Carolina was for how much school spirit I knew would be there. My own school lacks in school spirit and as a cheerleader that’s quite depressing. haha

AU - Love your enthusiasm!

I’m with AUgirl here… there is an incredible amount of school spirit here! I’m rather surprised that you haven’t heard anyone going over the top about how much they love it here, because literally, I do not know one single person who is unhappy to be here. I absolutely love South Carolina, and I am so thankful that I ended up here for countless reasons. The campus is gorgeous, the people are friendly, and the football games are an experience like no other.

At the Alabama game, I spent the entire fourth quarter jumping up and down with thousands upon thousands of other ecstatic fans as we beat the #1 ranked team in the nation, and let me tell you, Williams-Brice was electric. After just weeks as a Gamecock, you will get chills when you hear 2001, and whenever you feel Sandstorm, you will compulsively rage. Seriously. You will sing the fight song at the top of your lungs during games, and you’ll still sing it when you hear it playing on our beautiful Horseshoe at five o’clock- every day. You better memorize the Alma Mater, because you absolutely will sing it. I know a few people who claim they don’t like football, and I feel bad for them, because I’ll be honest, I was sort of the same way… until I went to my first football game as a Gamecock. I was hooked and absolutely converted. There just aren’t words to describe the feeling and emotion of being a part of the student section during a football game, but it is absolutely something incredible.

Oh, and our baseball team? Yeah, they’re the reigning National Champions, currently ranked #1, and they are total ballers. But really, it’s no big deal. Just a day in the life of a Gamecock.
