Is there any free transportation from the airport to Texas A&M?

And if not free, what other options are there?

Which airport? (OW-One Way)

CS-Easterwood Airport to campus is about $12-OW.
CS - Houston George Bush International OW-Ground Shuttle $27.
CS - Houston Hobby-OW $33.
Pick up or drop off to home / campus add $5 extra.
Therefore, it will be cheaper to add the shuttle to drop off or pick up from campus / home instead of re catching another taxi from Easterwood airports.
There is no shuttle between DFW and Austin.

There are a LOT of kids from Houston here, you are bound to know many kids who can offer you a ride to/from the airport after you are settled. To get to Easterwood, someone will give you a ride no problem. Might not be good for your first trip here, but by Thanksgiving, you’ll be fine! Good Luck and Gig 'em!

In theory it is truth, even for DFW and Austin, if you are very sociable and have roommate / friend willing to help you out. However, many OOS students still relies on the shuttle between CS and Houston. It is not too expensive, just budget in as part of your airfare. Make sure you coordinate your time appropriately and don’t cut it too close for either arrival or departure.

Usually getting rides from Easterwood is not a problem. S2 have done that a few times. However, lately, we have use the shuttle service for pick up and drop off when he use Houston airports. Airfare has gone up quite a bit, it is getting too expensive to use Easterwood airport. Check out airfare to Hobby airport, usually it is cheaper, however it does require some transfer to hub cities depend on the airline. So, it does take longer for your commute.

Please book the shuttle ahead online when flight is confirm. Usually it is full during move in week, thanksgiving, begin/end of semester.

Thanksgiving weekend is very short, most OOS student do not go home. The airfare is very expensive. Besides, you only have about 2 weeks into final and Fall Semester end Dec 12-14.

It’s a pretty giant favor to ask (even of a kid driving to Houston) to get you up to IAH or to Hobby. It would likely cause them a minimum of an hour of extra drive-time. That shuttle sounds like a GREAT deal!

Do not go home for Thanksgiving. I spent almost as much time in the airports and on the shuttle as I did at home. Plus the UT game is at home. The thing that sucks about the shuttle is that you usually end up waiting at the airport for a couple hours because they don’t have shuttles coming every 5 minutes.
