I got waitlisted by UCLA. Although they said that decisions would be made throughout the month of May, I still haven’t heard about the decision. I really want to go to this school. It is one of my top choices, and I am afraid that the admission office may forget about me. Is there anyone who hasn’t heard about his/her decision.
On the decision, it said the following
** Note: Not all decisions have been made for students on the waitlist. **
Decisions will be made on a rolling basis throughout the month of May and will be posted here on our decision site. Please continue to check back. An email will also be sent to notify you once a decision has been made.
I suspect that this has been on the site since the initial decision was made, so I am not sure if this applies now.
I hope you SIR to another college in the meantime…
At this point, I think you could give them a call and let them know they are still your first choice.
They would have offered wait list positions to thousands of students, and probably a third of them accepted. Did yiu follow up with a waitlist Statement? I am guessing, because UCLA doesn’t make the info easy to find, that there are probably 2,000 or more on the waitlist and that roughly 10% of those will be admitted, though is could be much less or much more. This is similar to Berkeley. At this point, you should not be hanging onto this idea. It is unlikely to happen, though there may be a few more admissions, like single digits, due to summer melt.
What’s the waitlist statement? I received an email saying that I am on the waitlist after I opted in. I think I should call. (I am not desperate to get in though; I submitted SIR to another school.)
It’s like a letter of continued interest aboutmwhy you would like to attend UCLA. It’s optional. If you didn’t submit one, I would say there is no chance.
