just wondering if there is cable at Andover because I just witnessed the Japanese beat the Korea 5-3 and I don't wanna miss big games like this when I'm at andover

Ya the tv is right beside the outhouse :D

Anyways seriously they do have cable plus you could probably watch it online anyways

Let's hope so.

Yeah, I don't think the big game should be your biggest worry while at BS...

I agree Lillium, you should be taking advantage of your great opportunities

That doesn't mean that you can't have some fun... Don't act like you guys are gonna be working like zombies there... It should not be a decisive factory there, however.

I'm not planning on being a working zombie (if I get off my waitlists) but I'm gonna try to do all the things I wouldn't do in a normal high school experience

Im a huge sports fan...and I don't plan on missing any big games at BS. So I'm assuming there are TV's in the common room.

You guys act like boarding school is a prison and all kids do is work. Not everybody here is a nerd. There are tv's in every common room and they all have cable.

Just pray you don't end up in Kitt One.

Lol ya, on my form fill out I just put "Anywhere but Kittredge, Please!" If they put me in there that'd be cruel.

^^
Haha! LOL Hockeykid. Every newb boy's worst nightmare, isn't it? Are you among the unlucky few who have lived through that Gulag?

What's wrong with Kittredge??

Yeah? (tenchar)

No, praise the lord, I haven't had the experience.

Life litterally "rolls" there.

The head of house in Kitt 1 is known for being stricter then other houses on campus. The students tend to bristle at rules they deem to be overly draconian. Some parents, though, like having their child there for that very reason.

And it seems to be the only really small dorm.

gah i hope i dont go there. i wanna stay with my friends in the commons when theres a huge game

Lol...I don't care if I sit there by myself watching a big game. Won't bother me. Pretty much a.) March Madness (especially Duke), Monday night Football (falcons), Basketball (Hawks vs. anyone that's on TV), Baseball (Yankees Red sox), Hockey (if the thrashers could ever make the playoffs!), College football (any USC game on TV)

Duke is amazing, I don't pay attention to any other widely viewed sports, though (I love Cricket, though I doubt they would pay for that package). Football is okay, if you ask me. I would rather watch live, school games...

I'm pretty sure we have cable?
I don't know if it makes me really embarassing or really cool that I don't know.
But I mean we have TVs in our common rooms, and I've definitely watched like grey's and red sox games and we definitely have more than like 3 channels, so I think we have cable?
but honestly most people watch shows online if they're going to watch them just because i mean technically that 8-10 period is study hours, and usually you're pretty busy or hanging out with friends then.
it's nice how much less your life depends on TV while you're at school.
but sad how much I enjoy going on TiVo fixes over spring break.
