So, assuming that all my letters of recommendation are thoughtful, cone from people I have interacted with in many ways/places, and say different things about me, is there such a thing as too many letters of Rec? How many is too many? Right now I'm looking at the possibility of 5 or 6. 2 from teachers, one from an acting teacher at school, one from the superintendent of my school district (I interned with her), one from another person for which I interned, and one from a staff person with an international organization in which I am very active.

Old adage: "The thicker the file the thicker the kid. "

Standard: 2 teacher recs, one counselor rec, perhaps a fourth supplemental rec from someone with a unique perspective not covered by the other three (i.e. a coach, previous employer, etc.).

The fact is having more people saying the same thing about you over and over is meaningless.
