So I just noticed my official GRE score today. Earlier I only had the range of scores. I'm planning to apply to public policy masters programs and here are my stats:

3.5GPA from top 3 liberal arts school
2+ years work experience
History major, with Econ, Stats, PolySci classes as well.
Good recs

GRE:
Verbal: 164, 94%
QUANT: 158, 79%
Writing: 5.5, 96%

Is that Quant score horrible? How does this stack up against top programs such as Harvard JFK, Princeton, Syracuse? Where should I apply now?

I would retake if I had time. If you got As in your math courses I wouldn’t worry too much.

Hmm… public policy is not math/science based, so I think a score at the 79% is quite good! But if taking it again will put you at ease, then you should if you have the time. If not, I wouldn’t worry about the quantitative score since you’re not going for a math/science program.

Do you think the percentile is as important in quant as verbal? My old score was about 740 on quant but only 670 on verbal, but obviously my percentile was much higher on verbal. Thoughts? How about for top ranked programs?
