I'm taking the ACT's for the 4th time in February. This time, however, I'm preparing a month in advance (rather than a cram session the night before).

My plan is to focus on each section individually. At the moment, I've been focusing solely on the English section. I received a 24 on English in the December exam, and have gotten a 27 in my two practice test attempts. I will continue to take English practice tests until I can achieve a respectable score (between 33-36).

When I am able to master this section, I will then move onto math, and so forth.

When there is two weeks before the exam, I will begin taking full practice tests (all 4 sections).

thats good, but id say focus one section per week, but dont forget to review a section, so you dont forgot some other section while studying reading or something.

Absolutely cowking. I began by taking a science practice test (26), two reading practice tests (both 26), but am at the moment focusing my attention on the English section.

Over the past week, I took 3 English practice tests. My scores were 27, 27, and 33 respectively. Before I move on to a new section, I’d like to get that up to a 35.

I will then work on math, try to get that up to around a 35, then move on to reading, then science.

I plan on mastering each section, then taking full length practice tests. I surely hope it works, as I am aiming for a 34+ composite.

Just took another English practice test and got a 34 (73/75). Of the 4 English practice tests I have taken, the scores have been a 27, 27, 33, and 34 respectively.

See, you’re improving. That is the key. A cram session the night before will actually do… absolutely nothing. You need to (like you are doing now) prepare in advance and do a little each day to condition your mind into thinking a certain way. That is, how the test makers think. 15 minutes each day for a month is much better than “studying” for 8 hours the day before. Because in reality, you can’t even study for the ACT like you would a test in Math or Biology.
