Section By Section

In applying for the Air Force Academy, I am going to retake the ACT in October. I have 2 hours a day, 3 days a week to study until then.

ANYWAYS, my math is my weakest score with a 26. I plan on taking the ACT to only improve my math. My goal is at least a 31 on it.

I'm doing alright right now. I've averaging a 30 on all my practice tests, untimed. And I'm getting faster because I recognize exactly what the questions are asking.

So, is it a good idea to be taking the ACT with the mindset of improving just ONE section?

Since math is second, should I not even try the english (I doubt I will improve what I already have)? That way I don't burn up my mental energy, or would it look bad if I was to submit an ACT with like an 18 english and a 31 math and whatever reading/science?

The AFA superscores. So does all my senators and congressman, who will be receiving my scores as well.

Any thoughts?

Try to improve every section as much as you can.

If you are happy with one section, dont focus too much on it but still look over it once in a while just so you dont lose it :P

Thanks. I’ll review a little, but my main focus is on math.

Since all the colleges I’m interested in superscore the ACT scores, do you think it would look bad if I was to get a low score on english, reading, and science, but do great on math?

That way when they superscore, I’ll end up with about a 32.

Is this method frowned upon by colleges, or do they not care how I get the scores?
