Is this a good idea?

I don't know if some of you have read my other posts, but I have been dealing with some issues that are presently being solved and dealt with. Because of those issues I have been having problems with school and grades and it lead to me withdrawing from school and going to a local community college to take classes there. I didn't do so well there either because of what I was dealing with (G.P.A. of 0.0, because of not attending classes). Anyway, The issues, being medical, are, like I said, being solved and dealt with, may give me a good reason for having problems with school. I loved the college life, but right now I've decided to stick it out and attend CC until I can prove to myself that I can handle a better college from then. I was hoping to maybe spend a semester and work on getting unbelieveable grades, and do a lot of volunteer work and etc, and then transfer to a better 4 year school after one semester of CC (Spring 2007). Now, will colleges/universities consider this a defeat of the challenges I had faced and most likely consider me as a good cantidate, or see it as nothing too special and consider me in the Fall of 2007, if I apply, instead of the Spring of 2007? I was never filled in about these things, So I thought asking here would be the perfect solution. Thanks for any help or advice you can give to me. I'll be checking back often! :D

I think it really depends on the issue. You mentioned that they are medical, but we really need more information to judge the situation, and still none of us really know. If it is truly a difficult problem to get through, then I wouldn't worry at all. Colleges would prefer a 4.0 student to a 3.0 student, but they don't prefer students who haven't had medical problems to students who have (well, I guess it depends but you know what I'm saying). If you take go to CC and prove yourself as being an excellent student, it may even work to your advantage. But, not knowing anything else about you, I'm not sure only 1 semester will change their minds. And I don't understand at all about the Spring/Fall 07 dilemma, can you explain?

There is a lot of information missing from your post. What schools are you aiming at? Whats your academic background? What school did you drop out of? etc...

I'm looking at schools like: University of Vermont, Stonehill College, Goucher College, etc... I was once waitlisted at Goucher in 2005. I was going to school in Boston at Emmanuel College. Later from then I went to school at Quinsig. C.C. to get my grades up and maybe transfer again, but my depression and anxiety attacks continued, which basically got me to the point of not going to classes and getting a 0.0 G.P.A. because of it. I was a GREAT student in H.S. I had a 2.9-3.0 G.P.A. in highschool and did a number of extracurriculars, including atleast 4 different types of leadership positions, as well as volunteering for many different events and so forth. I can post a resume if you'd like, I was only trying to shorten my story because I understand that it can be a pain to read through a really long post. I'll continue to post more if you think you can help me out. Thanks again jacknjill for replying!

About the spring/fall 07 dilemma... I don't know if I should apply for the spring, and they would note my improvement and consider me as a candidate, or if they would like to see me apply in the fall... I dont know...
