Is this a scam?

I apologize in advance for the larger post :( I really want to learn a language through Rosetta Stone (greek), and so I was searching through craigslist.com and found a product that seemed AMAZING! It is an all in one CD for PCs with 27 languges on it for only $45! I e-mailed the seller and asked him about it, and he replied with this:

hi., this is only a program disc and languages, meaning you will have the software and languages included, all comes on one 4.7 gig dvd dic, for pc's only though, and no any other material comes with it, like headsets, so dont expect that, but you wont be needing those, just a way of charging ppl more money, and this is how the program works : This is a dvd disc for computer only, once inserted in your pc, you click on the drive and run the setup software, from there you click on the icon from your desktop and it will open a platform with all 27 languages listed, 8,569 lessons in all, all you have to do is click which language you want to learn, all languages comes on one disc, and thats it, manual included in the program files, its pretty cheap as this cost lost of money, but this is a copy and i dont have some items like headset or any other stuff rosetta might put with it, but this is the program and its all you need, manual is included and you can read it if you need to. and as for buying this, am based in nyc and i sell this in various cities and only accept paypal, and mail this out free of charge, priority mail, and for your comfort i can forward emails from previous customers so you will be rest assured that you will be getting what you paid for, so if paypal is ok with you, then let me know and write me back if you have any other question.

Here's me again. My father is concerned with not only the product but with the process of acquiring it (although he concedes that it is only $45). But he has all of these languages:
Danish 1German 1 & 2
English (UK) 1 & 2
English (US) 1 & 2
Spanish (Lat Amer) 1 & 2
French 1 & 2
Hebrew 1
Hindi
Spanish (Spain) 1 & 2
Swahili
Swedish 1
Italian 1 & 2
Dutch 1 & 2
Portuguese 1 & 2
Polish 1
Russian 1 & 2
Turkish 1
Chinese (Mandarin) 1 & 2
Greek 1 & 2
Indonesian 1
Japanese 1 & 2
Korean 1
Latin 1
Thai 1
Vietnamese 1
Arabic 1 & 2
Welsh 1

sorry. I'm not done.

Like I said, it seems like a great product, but I do have my concerns. What do you guys think of this potential buy? Is it legit? He is now currently forwarding some e-mails of previous buyers, so I can evaluate those once I get them. I don't know. I have mixed feelings...

As in, an illegal copy of a copyrighted product?

Details of Rosetta Stone 2007 : Software > Windows - Other - Mininova

If you know how to use bittorrent, you can download it for free. This is probably what he has, he just burned it to a dvd and is trying to profit off of it.

i don't think it is illegal, owlice, but that article is pretty interesting. what would you do in this situation.

Rosetta Stone actually doesn't work that well. I found it made learning languages even more difficult and there's no vocabulary list - so you're entirely dependent on their interpretation.

You should consider using Pimsleur. It's cheaper and works a lot better, in my opinion.

As for whether that is legit, the way the writer is trying so hard to make himself sound trust worthy makes me suspicious of him. Especially the "I'll send you email copies of previous customers." bit. As if he can't create 20 fake Gmail accounts.
Stick with eBay or Amazon (used and new) if you're worried. Honestly, Rosetta Stone is overrated, though.

Rosetta Stone is better if you already have a basic knowledge of the language. I have it to learn Japanese and it immediately jumped into vocab and some grammar that I had no idea about.

It's downloadable.

Rosetta Stone doesn't work.

Work harder and use Supermemo.

I looked up Supermemo, but I still don't understand how you use it. Could you ^^^ explain?

Super Memory
