Rosata Stone?

Does it really work or what? Share all your thoughts about it here please :)

It’s Rosetta Stone.
I don’t know how productive it is.

Yeah I know my computer is going really slow and its hard to type with it like this…sry

From what I’ve heard, it really depends on what language you’re learning.

Totally not worth the $100+ or whatever it is though, imo.

I wouldn’t recommend this program alone. Yes, you can use it, but from what I’ve heard, it consists primarily of a bunch of “match-the-picture-with-the-corresponding-word” ordeals, over and over and over again. This is good for vocabulary, but if you really want a solid base in grammar and building sentences, you’ll have to find something else.

LiveMocha.

I have never heard of anyone having success with Rosata Stone.

what language are you learning? if its a mainstream language, omniglot.com has many free resources listed. just go to your language and scroll until you see links.

@AeroEngineer3141: $100+??? I heard Rosetta Stone costs up to $1000.

@wesley108: Yes, I heard it does work, and quite well at that.

I tried Rosetta Stone before at a friend’s house… She had it for Mandarin Chinese.

It seems like a good tool for conversational Chinese, but as for learning how to read or write? Meh.

Oh okay what about fluenz has anyone heard of that?

I would recommend Berlitz because it helps you learn sentence structure, grammar, and vocabulary. It also immerses you more into the language. Plus you can download it on your ipod.
