Hello everyone, I'm a junior and starting to think about my college application essay. I was thinking about writing it about a struggle I had last year to increase my speed in math and increase test-taking confidence. This began when my math teacher had informed me that I would not be able to enter AP Calc AB in the following year due to my inability to work at a decent pace. I began to train myself to test quickly, while gaining profound amounts of confidence in the process. I finished the next test first (even before the math genius in the class, notorious for being quick) and did the same for the next few. Although I viewed my teacher as unfair and bias for not placing me in the course, I quickly realized that he had made me a better student in numerous ways. Sure enough, I entered AP Calculus in my junior year.

Does this sound like a good topic? Although it may sound miniscule, it has made an enormous impact on myself as a student. I believe it will develop into a well written essay. I need it to be great because I am interested in applying ED at Johns Hopkins.
Thanks!
