Hey guys. I was wondering if going to church was an extra curricular activity that's worth noting on a college application. I think the definition of an EC is anything you do outside of school. I know it's not really a glamorous EC but the point should be that your passionate about it right? I'm an active member in my church & assist my pastor during services/serve on the altar. I have other EC's as well if anyone was wondering but would you count this? I also wanted to get a Rec Letter from my pastor to talk about my character etc.

The simple action of attending church is not an extra curricular activity. However, being an active member and assisting your pastor definitely is.

If you’re actually actively doing something while at church (volunteering/assisting or something like that), then sure, I think it’d count. However, if you’re just a frequent member of the congregation (as in, sitting and listening to the sermon), then I don’t think it’d count.

EDIT: Oops, ninja’d.
