<p>My friend asked me if National Honor Society is an honor/award or an EC. I used to think it was an honor because I saw in a number of posts people putting it under an honor.
But then I see people putting it under an EC.
So which one is it?</p>
<p>If it makes any difference, my friend is using it for UC application (University of California). The application limits the applier only to 5 ECs and 5 honors/awards.</p>

<p>It can be either; it depends on how your school selects applicants. My son and daughter put it down as an award.
