...cuz it's mine <3

stanfurd? nop

I didn't even apply to Stanford, because I knew if I got in there, I would get in here, and come here.

Berkeley was my first choice =). Didn't even apply to Stanford.

To tell everybody the truth, even with the Berkeley-Stanford rivalry, I would have chosen Stanford if I was accepted. I was waitlisted, though. Many students would say this is the truth for them.

Some students are committed to Berkeley because they are either near Berkeley, have been raised to like Cal, or don't like Stanford at all.

berkeley is my first choice after stanford..cheers oprah..haha

Hell No, Stanford seems to suburbia and quiet and normal and I just can't stand that feeling. I just love Berkeley. The University is so large and beautiful, yet it's so intense and raw. I love city because it is such an eclectic mix of people and everything delicious seems to be in walking distance or a short bus ride. Ahhhh Palo Alto is just so boring and there is nothing happening. I doubt there were giant mobs at Stanford running down the street when Obama won. I would not go to Stanford even if offered. I am still in aw that I found the perfect university within the perfect area and with such high standards. I love Cal!!!!!!!!!!!!! ----sorry for the rant.

I didn't apply to Stanford either. And I probably wouldn't have gone there even if I had applied and gotten in. I think it's mostly an atmosphere thing; I much prefer Berkeley's (LOVE Telegraph).

"Palo Alto is just so boring and there is nothing happening"

Hey, I'm from Palo Alto!... Sadly, I must admit what you said is very true.

i'm guesstimating half of berkeley students applied to stanford and would have attended if they had not been rejected.

and it's the sad truth!
but i was talking to my mammi, and honestly, although i would pick stanford over berkeely, im probably going to end up going to Berkeley, but i am PERFECTLY alright with that
sooo <3

Realestate, your hypothesis is true.

In my case, I would have chosen Brown, realistically, if I made it past the 2nd round of the waitlist. Stanford waitlisted me, then basically, rejected everybody.

If I was admitted by Stanford, I would have chosen it because of its suburb type atmosphere. I'm actually more accustomed to that atmosphere because I grew up in a town that had 2 city suburbs surrounding it.

I would just get a headache if I had to choose between them.

Well, yes, some people like both Berkeley and Stanford. You should visit both campuses to figure out which one you'd like better.
