I’m taking ATM as electives, my goal is to take Synoptic Meteorology I.
I see on another thread that you have (or had) a GPA of 2.4. To me anything below a 3.0 suggests that you really aren’t learning the material from your courses very well. Over time this is going to cause you to fall behind as you get into higher level and more difficult courses. It also will make graduate school unlikely.
I would strongly suggest that you take fewer courses at once, spend less time on-line, study harder, and try to get A’s rather than C’s.
That’s incredibly STEM- heavy. The closest thing to a bit of relief from formulas and analysis is German-- and I’m not sure I would put German into the “relief” category.
I guess my question is why you would make such a choice? Your college will surely require some Gen Ed courses–Why not include English Comp and some less intense courses during these two semesters.
And I agree-- that 6 courses is a lot for anyone. But for someone with a 2.4 it seems like a recipe for disaster. It’s one thing to say “I’ll turn it around and do better.” It’s another thing when it’s a cold February or November morning and you’re getting up at 6 am for hours and hours and hours of classes.
I agree with @DadTwoGirls. Taking fewer courses each semester will give you more time to study. Two summer courses crammed into 7-12 weeks is too much in too short a time. You can’t take 20 credits/semester without your adviser’s approval, and if you’ve been struggling academically they’re not likely to approve it. What’s the rush?
@austinmshauri I’m not rushing. I was originally a chemistry major but switched this early October to math since is been my passion since community college. I chose to major in chemistry because of the math it had, yet I still liked the material I just had a hard time trying to explain the simple or sometimes hard concepts to my friends and peers. I only have a foreign language to complete for my gen eds. I have five more semesters left and have 89 credits. If you remove the chemistry courses my GPA is higher. I might remove German and leave it with five classes. I may also audit ATM 311 but will see next semester.
I’ve decided to move Elementary German I (4) to Fall 2020.

Now, I’m considering switching AATM 405 with AMAT 409 which is Vector Analysis. Is Three math courses a lot? Since Math has been my passion, I believe I can handle it. Has anyone taken Vector analysis with ODE?
But you need some Gen Ed’s and some electives to graduate. Can’t you include an English or a History or a sociology course in there somewhere, just to give yourself a breath of fresh air?
So, if you’re to graduate on time, you have no choice but to have two semesters full of STEM classes?? Who on earth advised you during earlier semesters?
I’m not trying to push myself. I know the outcome of what I’m doing will be really tough and hard. Although, since I’m taking the subjects I am passionate about. I will be okay but I know I will have to work very hard and have better time management. I just hope they offer that CS course. Since my major math requires two math courses. I have one done.
