Is this enough?

Hey guys,

I'm a rising junior and I'm trying to use my summer to get as much SAT studying done as possible. My score from a practice test I took was:

CR: 700
W: 760
M: 680
Total: 2140

I'm studying for 1 1/2 - 2 hours everyday. Do you think this is enough to boost my score up to around the mid 2200's by the end of the summer? Or do you think I should be doing more?

Thanks in advance (:

Would you feel good if I said yes you can get a 2200?

That is definitely plenty of effort to increase your score. What is more important is what kind of practice you are doing. Pure effort will not help much if you are not studying the right way. Read Silverturtle’s Guide:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/955109-silverturtles-guide-sat-admissions-success.html

You really can’t go wrong if you stick to this guide. The one thing I would stress is that you should spend a lot of time practicing, not just studying. The most efficient way to improve your score is to take practice sections/tests, and go through each question that you get wrong. Figure out why your answer is wrong and why the correct answer is correct. This constituted almost all of my practice, and I slightly exceeded your target range with less effort and without being abnormally smart. Still try to continue working as diligently as you are currently though.

I think you should use your summer for fun not for the SAT.

^ I totally agree.

Good Lord, get a life.

Please don’t bash the OP, only offer help if possible, or don’t respond at all. One can study 2 hours a day and still “have a life.”

To the OP:
It is definitely possible, just practice a section or two each day and review answers. This should hardly take 1 1/2 hrs.

i hope it’s enough
for your sake

“Good Lord, get a life.”

1.5-2 hours is not enough time to significantly take time away from one’s life. Take it easy.

“Good Lord, get a life.”

1.5-2 hours makes up pretty much half of the morning. There’s still plenty of time to “have a life.”

Thanks everyone else for the feedback though.

So how much have you improved so far this summer?

probably none.

I just laugh at the comments.
