Is this good stat for applying to top colleges?

<p>GPA of 3.8 (UW)
10 AP classes total.
SAT 2300
Also I'm asian immigrant, (moved here in 7th grade).</p>

<p>I think my grades are ok .. I took the hardest courses possible from the freshman year..
but I have really weak ECs.. none of the school clubs really nterested me and I did not know what I really liked to do..
I participated in few clubs (won competitions in one of that club , but we won it together as the club and it's really big club so i didnt get any office postition) and volunteered during each summer.. and that's really it..</p>

<p>Can I still apply for top colleges like HYPMS or would it be a waste of time?
I'm not sure how much EC will affect the college admission..</p>

<p>Hate to be harsh, but I think it may be a waste of time if you really don’t have any ECs like you said. You’d just be another academically-excelling but socially lacking Asian American immigrant.</p>

<p>MichaelChen is right. You are obviously a great student, but as an asian you will really have to step up the EC’s to have a good chance at HYPS.</p>

<p>You will be a good candidate for the lower level Ivies. Try to pull a good essay… and do many activities this year… I assume ur a junior</p>
