Hi, first time using this forum, and I hope to frequently visit here from now.

I took 4 years off after high school because I wanted to know why I need college education, and now I finally learned why and decided to go to college.

So, I will be attending LaGuardia Community College in New York this Fall, and due to my financial situation I will not be able to attend here full time. I'm going to study Pre-Med, and here is my plan for the next 4 semesters:

Semester 1: General Chemistry I & General Biology I
Semester 2: General Chemistry II & General Biology II & Calculus I
Semester 3: General Physics I & Calculus II & Anatomy
Semester 4: General Physics II & Statistics & Writing Intensive (possibly)

My plan here is to take only the core subjects within the Pre-Med curriculum, and transfer out of LaGuardia after 2 years. I don't plan on taking any other general elective courses, such as Psychology, because I don't know if the course credit will be transferred to either NYU or Columbia (I called and e-mailed both schools about transfer credits, but they never gave me a comprehensive answer). Also, I could be taking Organic Chemistry here, but I figured I'd be better off taking them after I transfer.

I heard many stories that it is possible to transfer to NYU or Columbia from a community college, only if I have outstanding grades. Also, of those stories, all of the students were full time students. But in my case, there's a greater chance that I'll end up being a part time student for 2 years at LaGuardia CC. So, I would like to propose a scenario in which I end up being a part time student taking just the courses mentioned above for 2 years, and in the scenario I maintain a 4.0 GPA. What do you think my chances are at being accepted to NYU or Columbia? Is there other schools that I may have better chance with in this scenario (I just hope to stay in New York, but for Medical School, I don't necessarily have to stay here).

Please, if you have your experience or heard a similar case, I would like to hear it (specifics will be very helpful!). If you have any suggestions to my plans, I'm in open arms willing to hear all of your advises.

Thank you for reading, and I also thank you all in advance for your comments.
