Ok, I'm getting really frustrated with the college I'm attending in the fall.

I was supposed to sign up February 1st for Summer Orientation. Go to the web site, Link isn't up yet, site says to check back mid-feb. Cool.

Check Feb. 14. Link still isn't up yet. Okay, fine...maybe they're just having technical difficulties or something.

Check back FEBRUARY 28TH. Site says, "Check back March 10th for a live link to registration." FINE.

Log on this afternoon. "Check back March 10th for a live link to registration."

Can I look forward to four years of this? I'm really not impressed...I mean you'd think they'd be able to get it up within a month and a half of when they say they're going to.

Annoying? Yes. Atypical? Probably not!
University websites are often pretty time-consuming to update because of all the red tape.

For example, here, every single word change requires a Change Request form to be submitted. Said form must be filled out and signed by the person proposing the change as well as their direct supervisor/dept director and sent with any accompanying materials (i.e., images, fonts, files, etc.) to the Dept. of University Relations, which reviews said changes to be sure they fit within established criteria for how the school is to be presented (turn-around time there is 1-2 weeks). From there, it must be sent to the IT dept's web design team, who actually implement the changes (another 1-2 weeks), so you can see where what they thought would only be a week might quickly become twice that -- and that's not even including all of the arrangements for Orientation. I'd give them some grace. You won't really be using the website much once you're at your school!

I agree with apumic. There are a lot of colleges out there who are very disorganized at the moment. I wouldn't let it affect your perception of the academics, though. Maybe you can call in to ask what the actual day is?

That seems fairly normal to me. The CC i'm currently going to is the last school in the whole state to post their summer schedule and when I call, nobody knows anything and they keep transferring my call and I end up going to 5 different departments twice and each time, the same person sends me to a different place. GET ORGANIZED!!!!

You might try calling the school and asking if you can register over the phone. If they say no, then ask when you will be able to do it online.
