I recently took the AP Stats test and I do not believe I will get a 4. I may not have even passed it, actually. If I do end up getting a 3, however, it wouldn’t count for credit…unless I fight for it, right? I believe that’s what the admissions counselor told me - to take the exam anyway even if I didn’t think I could get a 4. Some students told me that they give more “mercy” to those who take the exams.

I wonder because there is a quantitative reasoning requirement…and I do NOT want to take another math class. Ever. There is an anthro class called “Thr Human Animal” and to my knowledge it would cover the QR requirement…but so could a 4 in AP Stats…and I want to major in Anth so I would prob take it anyway.

In that case, if I get a 3 on the exam, is it worth fighting for?

Also, is there a placement test for foreign languages? I will take the AP Spanish test next week, but I’m not sure what score I’ll get. Spanish is one of my stronger subjects.

IIRC, I don’t think your AP credits count for the requirements anyway. They add to your total number of credits required for graduation, but I don’t believe they count towards your major or towards your basic requirements. I have no idea if you could argue your way into getting credit for a three, but I doubt it. And if I’m right about it not counting towards your requirements, I don’t think it’s worth it.

For foreign languages, they give you a recommendation based on the number of years you’ve taken the foreign language and maybe your AP test. You only have to take a placement test if you want to get into a higher class than is recommended. And I think it’s really more of a conversation than a test. When I was testing out of the first level of Japanese, anyway, there was a short multiple-choice written test, and then the professor just asked me some questions in Japanese.

Also, you’re taking AP Spanish that late? Aren’t the AP tests usually in the first two weeks of May?

Yes haha but there was a fog delay the morning of the test so it was pushed to this Thursday.
