Is this schedule doable?

My planned schedule for Fall Quarter is:

CSE 11
PSYCH 60
COGS 1
Warren Writing

Is this schedule doable or is the workload crazy?

(CSE 11 mates! alright!) I hear the teacher’s great (Orr) but it /is/ an accelerated class. Seems that should be your toughest workload.

And it depends on how you approach writing. Some people found turning in essays in HS to be a world on their shoulders; some didn’t mind. All depends.

Matters more your professor for the rest, I’d say

PSYC60 is a joke. AP Stats is honestly a LOT more of a challenge.

COGS1 - are you taking it with Boyle? If you are, it’s an easy-A as long as you go to class.

@Terkaderk: I’m expecting to spend 15 hours a week on it xD I know C, but I haven’t taken any formal programming classes ever.

I’m pretty good with writing essays, but reading long boring texts is a problem. Is there alot of specific reading involved or do you pick what you read/write about?

@Oyama: Good to hear it’s a joke!

I’m taking COGS1 with Benjamin Bergen.

@kewlosaurusrex I’m also taking COGSC1 with Bergen, what have you heard about him?

@neeeeema: I don’t know much about him other than everything in CAPE. What other classes are you taking? I’m not taking PSYCH 60 anymore and I added Maths 20B and two Freshmen seminars.

How about this schedule

Chem 11 (Joke chem for non-sci majors)
Spanish 1B/1BX
Math 10C
Econ 114 (Economics of Immigration, basically an Econ elective)

I’m pledging this fall also, Math is probably my only concern I’m thinking at this point.

17 units+pledging, too much?

^It sounds fine.

Eh, if you’re pledging, you MIGHT want to drop one of those classes, just see how you can handle it in the first couple of weeks.

Bergen is a cool guy, that should be a fun class.

Chem 6A
Math 10B
Warren Writing
BILD 3

^ do you guys think the workload of this schedule will be too much for the first quarter?

^That’s almost identical to what I took my first quarter, except I took Poli 10 instead of Bild 3 which I took winter quarter. No it won’t be too much, just don’t slack off, which is a good rule in general anyway.

what about mine? tyvm

econ 1- xie
math10b- marc keilberg (anybody know who he is and whether he is difficult?)
sio15- laske
warren writing

notice: keilberg is not on cape or ratemyprofs

what about this?

math20b
vis22
anth1
hild7a

And what about this:
chem 6a
sdcc1
Phil31
math10a
freshman seminar
=)

Has anyone taken PHIL13 with Bazargan? I’m wondering how the class is.

ECON1 is the same with every professor. Just do well on your homework. It’s usually given a large weight (20-30% of your final grade) and the exams tend to be modeled around the problems you do on Aplia.

MATH 10A
CHEM 6A
MMW I
SDCC I
LISP 1D
Is this too much for my freshman qtr? :|

And does anyone know if buying used books is better than renting??

^I would remove a class or even two. Those are all quite challenging and you won’t have a life. It’s not like high school where you take 8 classes at a time, usually 3-4 are PLENTY.
