Is this schedule too hard?

Hello im a freshman choosing classes for next sophomore year.
Here is what i decided on:
AP US History
Hon Pre Calc
Hon Eng 10
Hon Bio ( moved here recently, so they placed me in physical science this year)
Hon Chem
Spanish lll
Public Speaking/Autocad
What my questions are:
Should I take a study hall? (In replace of fine arts)
Is this schedule too hard?
Should i take my fine arts my sophomore year since its going to be easier than junior and senior? ( 1 credit needed)
If i play varsity basketball, will i have enough time without a study hall?
Thanks so much

  1. Should I take a study hall? (In replace of fine arts) Personally, I'd say no - but some may say otherwise. You only have one AP class here (although it's one that will give A LOT of work) and a lot of honors classes - you should have time to do all your work at home, even with varsity basketball. I think you should save study hall for junior or senior year when you have more AP courses.

Is this schedule too hard?
Depends on yourself - but no, I don’t think it’s “too hard”. It’s pretty rigorous (for a sophomore), without being too much.

Should i take my fine arts my sophomore year since its going to be easier than junior and senior? ( 1 credit needed)
You need to decide this one. When you have a more rigorous schedule junior and senior year, you may want “an easy class”. At the same time, you could just deal with it now.

If i play varsity basketball, will i have enough time without a study hall?
Yes, you should have enough time. But that’s assuming that you won’t have much trouble with any of those classes. For example, someone who struggles with math would need to spend more time on math.

So this depends on you - you need to evaluate your proficiency in those subjects and decide if you should add study hall or not. Good luck!

Thanks so much!
