I want to go to a school that is not too wild, yet not too strict. But LIVELY. I love students with school spirit. I want to meet beautiful, friendly people with great personalities. Love watching football and basketball games. I like being in an atmosphere with a lot of people. Nightlife is not too big of a factor, yet I want some there. I want to get into a decent kinesiology program for physical therapy in the future.
I have a 4.2 GPA.
Is this the school I've been searching for this whole time? Have any positive or negative things to say about this school? I wanna hear it. Any info would be great. Thanks.

I’m the mom of an SDSU freshman so I’ll give you my opinion based on what I’ve been told.

“not too wild, yet not too strict” - I assume that comment is referring to the SDSU social life?? …If you’re looking to drink alcohol then you can find it but it’s not absolutely necessary to socialize. It can be a party school or not but it’s your choice. The first weekend of school many kids were passed out in the hallways/elevators of the dorms and a few taken to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. So those stories get passed around a lot more than students staying in their dorm room. Living on campus is very strict but it doesn’t stop people. Most parties take place off campus since the dorms are strict. The surrounding neighborhood streets near SDSU are patrolled by the police and they do give tickets to minors who are really obvious when intoxicated but they don’t stop every person out at 3am. The police does their best to keep students safe so their priority is safety.

“I want to meet beautiful, friendly people with great personalities”. - that pretty much describes SDSU

“Love watching football and basketball games” - you’ll find more spirit at basketball games than football games. They do show spirit and tailgating is popular before SDSU games but it’s not crazy like a southern school or UMichigan

SDSU is a big school so there’s a lot of people and if you’re 18+ you can go to downtown San Diego to dance clubs.

Positive - very easy to make friends

Negative - it’s not a safe area to walk alone at night (this goes for both male & female) and the dining room food gets old quickly

If you have any other specific questions then send me a message and I’ll answer honestly.

I went to SDSU and loved it and agree with sm (except I’ve not heard about the campus being unsafe), but I also think you’re describing most any large state school.
