I want to personalize my application by including pictures and newspaper clippings
I wanted to include a small senior picture and 3 newspaper clippings (all displaying a different part of my life: sports, volunteering, and writing)
Is it okay I send all this stuff? or is it too much?

its not enough!

I personally think it's a bit creepy, but colleges seem to go for it.

It's too much. ONLY do what the colleges require.

ex: Yale strongly discourages (which pretty much means NO!!!) extra teacher/supplemental recs. Most schools only ask for supplemental materials such as pieces of artwork, music, videos, etc.

okay cool, I'll ditch the newspaper articles.
any other opinions?

bump (10 chars)

mmm... depends where you're applying but I think if it's something that you feel will really impact your chances then do it. At one of my interviews I was almost encouraged to submit more.... but then again adcoms have a lot to look through already so choose wisely.

real impact: a picture of you accomplishing superconducitivity at 300K
