Is thus good academically? What are theyre good majors?

I’m wondering because I heard from friends that this school is bad but some other people said it’s good and that it has a low acceptance rate because of some legal case. Is this true? Is the school good?

It is a university (with colleges inside the overall structure). You must look at whatever degree you want to attain then see how good that program is at Ole Miss. Ole Miss has some very good colleges/majors that are “ranked” very high while others aren’t.

The things you should look at (at any university) are: what is the pass rate for exams (medical, pharmacy, law, business, etc), what is the job placement for people graduating in these majors, etc. etc.

You can’t just look at Ole Miss as a university you must look at individual programs within the university to see if it has a “good” program and if it will fit your needs.

@dbcbs5 my bad I just wanted to know how good they’re financing majors are also do you know their application deadline? I can’t find it anywhere

go the prospective student viewbook on the admissions page. it lists all the scholarships with the application deadlines
The application process opens this July.

@dodgerman711 Ole Miss is easy to get into if you are from Mississippi; it’s essentially an auto-admit if you meet the minimums. If you are from out of state it has gotten more selective. Obviously a lot of people think it is a “good” school or enrollment wouldn’t have doubled over the last 30 years. But that said, it’s not Harvard.

Due to the Ayers and other court decisions Ole Miss can’t raise admission standards, since a disproportionate number of blacks wouldn’t not meet these standards. So they have created a number of elite programs to attract top students. These include the Honors College, the Croft Institute, and the Lott Leadership Institute. The Honors College has an average student ACT of more than 32, which isn’t too far away from some of our nation’s most elite universities.

In addition to the above, the accounting school at Ole Miss is top notch. The law school is well regarded. You really just have to decide on what experience you are looking for.
