Hi Everyone. I'm a student from Bangalore, India and I've just completed the 2nd year (4th Semester) of my BSc programme. Microbiology, Chemistry and Zoology have been my majors, and I've done compulsory papers in English and Additional English (both deal with Literature) for two years. I have a very good academic and an excellent EC record. I was wondering whether it'd be possible to transfer into US University to do the third year of the BSc and finish the degree in 3 years, because an Indian BSc is a 3 year course and I don't want to study another year of a Bachelor's degree since I've already had a gap year (I've heard that you can finish your BSc in 3 years in the US if you work your ass off). If it is possible, can someone brief me about acceptance, statistics, feasibility, procedure, financial aid etc? I've heard that financial aid at the Undergraduate level is need-based and not merit-based. My family's earnings don't even total up to $20,000 an year. Am I eligible for a need-based scholarship?

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks!
