Is UCF a good musical theatre program? Notable UCF Musical Theatre Alumni?

I was recently accepted to UCF MT and would like somemore info on the program. I heard really good things about it but I’d like to hear more!
Also, does UCF have any notable MT alumni on Broadway or in Film/TV?

I graduated from the Acting department, so I only experienced about 1/3 of the training that MT students go through, but I didn’t see much growth from those accepted to those graduated. Hopefully you’ll only assigned the most esteemed professors, and they’re damn good, and not a freshly off-the-street Masters grad hired to fill one class who is often a waste of your time and money. That does happen frequent enough. Most of those students accepted in MT were already highly trained and ready for the outside world, though desired a degree in the field. That being said, the qualifications for acceptance are the same for those already having earned their degree from UCF. The most famous UCF graduate in Film/TV is Cheryl Hines from “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

The vast majority of theatre students now stray away from NY and Broadway entirely as the theatre industry has become so limited there, that it’s virtually impossible to pay Equity dues, NY living, and sustain oneself between what could be months of unemployment between shows. Simply put: the harsh conditions, circumstances and competition greatly outweigh the level of opportunity, which is mostly granted now to film/tv stars. Broadway has been dead since before I graduated high school. Most graduates now turn to regional acting, musical theatre in foreign countries, film, television, commercial and many–MANY–of them from UCF sustain themselves completely on that, which I believe reflects success in one’s field.

It is a good school with lots of opportunity, while many others have none, but it is only what you make of it.
