Is UCONN hard to get into?

About me: black female, about 1060 SAT I think, GPA around 3.6/3.7, no AP classes, but very good grades (some quarters I had straight A’s)., a strong essay, and I have volunteered around 20+ times at different events. Would I get into UCONN?

Are you a Junior or Senior? You’re GPA seems good but the SAT is below their average. If you’re a Jr. I would recommend taking them again. Good Luck to you!

I am a senior. I’m not good at all with test taking so that’s why I didn’t do very well. Thank you for your time.

Yes, you can get in from an academic perspective. Focus on leadership, community service, and particular passions and passion for the college. You should be okay.

Thank you so much, God Bless and have a wonderful weekend!!

You will get in, but they may have you start at a branch campus. The SAT is the only way they have to compare kids who have done well at schools which may be less rigorous than other schools, so they may want to see demonstrated achievement at the college level before you start at Storrs. But if you have done well in high school, you probably know how to work hard, and that’s what really counts for college performance, so I think you’ll do fine.

UConn, ring the flagship, liked honors classes and string test scores. It’s not impossible but unlikely.
I hope you’ve applied to several other Connecticut universities just in case.
Apply to other colleges, especially test optional colleges. Don 't submit your test scores, only your grades, essays, recommendations. Provided those are good, you have a shot at a few of those I list elixir.
You can apply to Elizabethtown, St. Michael’s, St Catherine’s, Elmhurst, Suny New paltz, Lycoming, Lebanon Valley; an excellent university where you might have a shot and is still accepting applications is Muhlenberg.
All of these are on common app.
