engineering no; tech is much better
law okay
medicine descent

Well, it all depends. Are you interested in the honors program? What other schools are you considering? I agree that Tech is better for engineering, but it has a lot of good resources for pre-med people too. UGA has many labs where lots of undergrads can get started on research. For law, the polysci department is pretty strong but for law school you can really major in anything you like.

I wouldn't give credit to the saying public "Ivy" of the south. I think the school gave itself that name, and not a valuable ranking institution. I mean tech is a public school, and is consider a lot better then uga. As well as UNC( an extremly hard school to get into)

I think the honors program is a public ivy... not the whole school...

The only engineering program is Ag Engineering. UGA doesn't have a med-school. The law school is considered to be pretty good. UGA's business and journalism schools are very popular and pretty well ranked. The public affairs/administration program is ranked VERY high.

It's too big, and it gets taken over by thousands of drunks that didn't go to school there in a pitiful attempt to link themselves to something. It's doing a good job of overcoming the pure party school image that it once had. The education setting is pretty much theory/researched based.
