Thanks…have already visited, and sent in application as well as Ross Admissions Portfolio which i worked on all summer.
Is Michigan hard? My eldest attended Eastern Michigan and Michigan. At Michigan his classes covered nearly 33-50% more material in the same length semester. The students are smarter, faster, and can handle the extra load. You’ll find similar course loads at all of the top Unis.
Certain majors are a lot harder than others. Majors in Engineering, CS, Business, and Nursing are at the top. All of these programs have few electives and many, many requirements. Of course, there is a lot of optional research in many disciplines, so you can make of it what you want to.
Some might not be considered ‘hard’ but require tremendous talent and discipline. Arts, Music, Architecture, Theater, etc. They work as much (or more) as the first group.
Next you’ll find the hard sciences, the soft sciences, then the non-science liberal arts and the rest.
Some classes in the first group are designed with so much work that even the brightest student could never complete it all. That is to force the students to work in teams, as they will have to in the real world.
