Is University of Ottawa competitive?

I graduated high school last year, but am taking a gap year. I’ve been looking into Canadian universities and grew fond of University of Ottawa, because it’s decently cheap and it’s not a bad school overall. I would be applying as an international student from Europe next year and I’m just wondering about the admission (I’m probably gonna go for Faculty of Arts).

My GPA is 3.6, which I’m not very happy about. My country’s universities only consider grades from last 2 years of high school so I was lazy my sophhomore year (3.0 converted GPA), but I had 4.0 both my senior and junior year. Also, my scool did not have any AP classes. My TOEFL score was 113/120 and I also took ACT (scored 29) and SAT (scored 1400). I know SAT, ACT are not requiered, but I am probably gonna submit the scores anyway, maybe it could help considering my GPA isn’t that high?

Does anyone here go to that school or has any information? I know their acceptance rate is 40-50%, but I’m just wonderng how my stats are.

Are you planning on attending initially in September of 2018? I think that you might have missed the deadline for starting in September 2017 (although you can read the web page as well as I can). Applications for some Canadian universities are still open for starting September 2017.

Your numbers look pretty good to me. Also the trend seems pretty clearly in the right direction. I assume that 1400 is for the two part SAT (approximately 700/700). If so this is also quite good.

Which European country are you from?
