With spring break around the corner, this is the typical time for many girls to go on insane fasts in order to drop weight. What I don't get is that not one single guy I know is attracted to the rail thin look of a Kate Moss or Nicole Ritchie. All of my friends thought Lindsay Lohan was the hottest babe on Earth until she became a skeleton; now, nobody wants to touch her with a 10-foot pole. It's like there are all these crazy girls trying to reach the 75-lbs. mark, and all the guys are just staring in disgust. The girls see the guys' reactions, but they don't even care. Wasn't attracting guys the whole point of losing weight in the first place? Or has the media ****ed with their brains so much that it's no longer about pleasing others but pleasing themselves, as if your weight is a magical number that is inversely proportional to your self-worth?

Appearances can deceive you. We should focus more on one's inner beauty instead of judging physical appearances. That's the problem we have in today's society.

that's silly. physical beauty tells a lot about a person's personality; for one, if they're content in being a fat tub of disgusting lard, or if they'll do something about it.

I don't condone anorexia. it's pretty dumb.

it's just that appearances do matter -- a lot.

^it's very true. Appearance is very important whether u like it or not.

Anorexia are for ugly girls who want to become more ugly. I suggest working out and eating right. A girl with some tone make me happy.

Maybe more girls would believe it when guys said these sorts of things if we didn't see so many of y'all going after the rail thin girls all the time.

And what's the deal with tall guys always going after the tiny short girls? That's seriously one of the most irritating things ever...way more irritating than girls wanting to be skinny.

girls with meat = orgasmic

why? pfft. we short girls get made fun of enough about our height.

5-2 and standing proud. =P

Well you know the camera puts on an extra 15LBS as many in the media proclaim.

ur fun size. no wonder tall guys go for the short ones. Besides it's like teh short girl has a big teddy bear

Which leaves tall girls with guys our height or shorter...thanks.

what's wrong with dating a shorter guy?

It makes me feel very awkward. I prefer guys that are somewhere between 6'2 and 6'4 because it's nice to actually feel like a girl when you're out on a date (I'm 5'10)...not to mention how nice it is to feel comfortable wearing shoes that actually have a heel on them.

I dont consider 5 10 to be tall... I'm 5 10...

katho maybe it's ur fetish he he ehhe

Considering that the average height for an adult female is just under 5'4, I'm a little confused as to why you think I'm not tall.

What exactly is the avg height for a female and male between 18-30 years?

girls who are trying to be that extremely skinny aren't doing it for attention from guys or to look "hot"
Its the clothes. The most fashionable clothes look best on girls who are rail thin. They just fit/hang better. Thats why runway models (not necessarily catalog or commercial, where they can be airbrushed...these models are usually slender, but still healthy) are so freakishly thin. The model is supposed to be like a clothes hanger for the garment. They aren't supposed to be "hot" or "beautiful," as this would take attention away from the clothes and to the model instead. This should NOT happen. The model should be a blank canvas....again, a clothes hanger...the OUTFIT should be the center of attention.
Unfortunately, many girls are not aware of this reasoning, and think that it would actually look good in real life to be this skinny. Reality Check: nope. It only works when you are distracted from the skinny-ness by the [hopefully] "amazing" clothes. Models are chosen SOLELY to enhance the clothes. In real life, its the OTHER WAY AROUND. You want your clothes to enhance YOU.

hope that clears some stuff up

considering u know the average height for an adult female I'd say your over reacting. People dont walk around school and when they look at you suddenly scream giant or OMFG she's taller than the average female. You're not disgustingly tall. you're just above average.

It's not guys that drives girls to be crazy about losing weight, it's other girls! Not as in trying to attract them, but even if you gain a few pounds other girls can be rather cruel about it.

lol

I never said I was freakishly tall. Knowing average heights isn't that weird, though.

The average height for adult males is around 5'9...and as I said in an earlier post, it's just under 5'4 for females.

This is a big part of it. A lot of times when I'm talking about clothes and stuff with my friends someone will usually say something to the effect of, "I love that look, but I could never pull it off...I'm just not skinny enough," at some point in the conversation.
