Skinny and anorexic are completely different things. I'm 5'6 and 110 pounds, but I look healthy even when I'm several pounds lighter, thanks to a small bone structure and a fast metabolism. I think people need to realize that not all women are naturally curvy, even at much higher weights than mine, and I actually think the obsession with "curves" (omg boobies!) can be as problematic as the obsession with thinness. I was an A cup at 105 pounds and at 125, and even if I gained another 30 pounds, I doubt I'd ever fill out a C. I honestly don't need any more reminders that no guys are attracted to a rail-thin girl -- I see it every day, thanks, and save for plastic surgery, there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

What's up with girls trying to be super fat. Every day it seems like I say some fat cow chowing down some ludicrously large meal. What's up with all these people that are normal sized and then turn into walking manatees. It's like they don't respect their body and feel that weight is proportional to self worth.

I hope you can see what I'm doing.

thank you.

I agree...your appearance like your weight, the state of your hair and nails give out some hints about what kind of person you are and whether you love yourself. Everyone should treat their body right, and if you're healthy and confident, any normal size girl is beautiful...thin is only ugly if its an abormal, freaky kind of thin, but a slim healthy girl would look great..so
Camiliasinensis, I do believe guys like slim healthy girls, not just curvy ones.
We girls do not all like VERY muscular guys, do we? Each to their own, and with health and confidence being the main factors.

if you have confidence in yourself, anything is possible girls ;)

what is really annoying though is when girls say" If I can just lose 5 pounds -- I would look so beautiful." Imho, 5 pounds doesn't do much for a person...

BTW, I am 5 ft and 1/2 inch -- don't you dare laugh!

greenface ..

there's a huge range of weights that are truely healthy, while a smaller range is considered beautiful and a range smaller yet is considered model-thin. you're kind of assuming that people in the healthy range, who maybe are above average weightwise but are not obese or at risk for obesity, are fat.

THANK you, Camelia. I wrote up an enormous response, but then deleted the entire thing... because you put it perfectly.

A little anecdote...
Over the summer, one of my best friend's body shape changed completely. She used to be rather boxy; she CERTAINLY wasn't fat, and she was always very pretty. But, about a month into the summer, she suddenly grew out of this shape and became very skinny (she didn't have an eating disorder or anything, she simply changed). Now, when everyone saw her again (my close friends and I didn't mention anything), they started commenting on how "beautiful" she looked all of a sudden. She mentioned how she was in debt because she had to go shopping, and someone asked, "Because now you're skinny?" Embarrassed, she nodded. Then, someone else added, "Yeah, [Friend's name], you're so beautiful now. I mean, you just became SO GORGEOUS, out of nowhere!"

This annoyed me SO. MUCH. My friend was always pretty, regardless of her body shape. I also hated how so many people implied that she wasn't beautiful before ("out of nowhere") .... The worst comment was, "I mean, you always had a nice face... but now you have a waistline!" Eurgh. My point is... relating beauty to weight is stupid (to oversimplify A LOT =P)

tiny and short --> me!
:D

I'm 6' 0" and proud!

Someone for some reason asked me my weight...I'm large in the middle, but I'm densely packed. He guessed 175. I'm really 210!

My self esteem went up a point or two today.

BTW I'm a guy.

For the record, I'm really attracted to super-skinny girls. I'm not sure why.
