I would really appreciate your thoughts, since you all know about this stuff. And if you do think that it's a reach... please give advice. Thanks so much!!

Not only should this not be a reach, you should be a shoo-in. You have great-looking credentials.
BTW, I went to Vanderbilt Grad school about 135 years ago.

old&wise, vandy's admissions have changed alot in the last 5 years. it is definitely a reach, but if you can raise your test scores you'll be in good shape.

For the class of 2009, the SAT range was 1300-1470 for College of Arts and Science. Your 27 on the ACT is equal to about a 1220. So you are pretty far below the 25% percentile mark and many of those spots probably go to URM/athletes/legacies. The acceptance rate for 2010 was 31% (and even lower than that for A&S). I don't want to sound mean but you definitely have to raise your test scores to give you a decent chance.

Thanks a lot Old and Wise, that's really encouraging.

And college2332, I do plan on definatly raising my scores on the ACT. I know that that is a low score, but like I stated before, I was so incredibly nervous. I'm hoping for a 30 min and a shooting for a 32, if I can stretch it a bit. With a 30 do you think my odds are better?

Anyone else? Reach or Match?

Bump Bump plz
