I am from New York so obviously I lean liberal...I am not religious, pro choice, gay rights...the whole nine yards...anyways, not saying i dont respect the views of the south, but I was wondering if northerners like myself could live in such a new different environment without going crazy? I realize NC went blue, but is it really turning liberal, or was it just the Obama bandwagon? Will it be easy fitting in, or will people reject me for my ideology?

Honestly, it's not like NC is a foreign country or something! :) Seriously, D (junior at Wake) is always saying how friendly everyone is. She's very happy there.

My friend, a senior at Wake Forest, says that it's a really conservative campus -- but one of her ex-boyfriends is incredibly liberal, she herself moderate, and they're having a blast there. She says that she's met very few people who are downright mean.

NC's probably about as mixed as they come, what with all the Northerners that have moved down here in the past few years. Seriously. It has its conservative Southerners, but there's a huge liberal influence.

well, conservatives seem to be more accepting of libels than vise versa. just imagine a really conservative kid trying to go to cal berkley or reed if you disagree

Freud thinks your unconscious mind is calling liberals (libels?) liars.

Plenty of hot-headed people on both sides of the political spectrum, imo.

I've always said that Wake Forest is more of a bell weather campus. As such, it's probably more conservative than many college campus--but the student body political leaning has actually seemed very balanced to me.

The professors and administration generally tilt to the left.

I almost googled the word(s) because it didn't feel right coming out. That'll teach me not to be so lazy. I wonder what bell weather is anyway. Bells probably prefer dry climates not near the ocean.

Now I just need to be more careful the next time...
