Hi,

I understand that the whole point of those six colleges at UCSD is to integrate kids with multiple majors and backgrounds, but since I'm drawn to Warren at this point in my application process, does anyone who goes to UCSD know if Warren is a good place for a girl going pre-med? Also, I know there's no special pre-med program, but assume a lot of bio courses, chem courses, a few social sciences (I'm also pretty active in social sciences and political issues, so Warren seems like a good fit in that sense).

Thanks!

If you like Warren then go for it. You can be premed in any college and make it out alright. Heck you can even major in visual arts or literature and you’ll be alright.

Not sure if you got the right idea about the college thing. It really depends on your major as to how many bio/chem classes you’ll be taking.

If you’re pre-med, you will need the core Chem6A,B,C, BL, Chem140A,B,C, and Chem143A as far as chemistry goes despite what major you are. You will also need BILD 1,2,3 for bio (disputable by taking a ****load of upper division Bio courses instead, depending on the Medical School you’re applying to), Phys1A/1AL,1B/1BL,1C,1CL, or Phys2A,B,C (with a lab), and either Math10A,B,C or Math20A,B,C. If you didn’t know, you take your classes with people from other colleges as well. The only classes that are really designated for the warren people are warren writing courses.

Any college is ok for pre-med so if you like Warren, go with Warren.
