I haven't visited WashU, so I'm not sure If I will apply, but I want to know if i fit the profile, and whether it will be a reach or match. (I know no one can be sure of these things, but general ideas/suggestions will be very helpful.)

I'm white, female, from nj. GPA is something ridiculously weighted and inflated. A-/B+ average freshman year (and a C in gym!) Switced from private to public school after that, and next two years, all good, 4.0 unweighted. 6th in class of ~350, would be higher if not for freshman year. 8 APs in total, the ones i took so far were 4s and 5s.

Extracurriculars are nothing too special. Mock trial, community service, internships etc. I do art and have some pretty good paintings for the art supplement. People say WashU likes that. True? What about the interview-- does that help and should I get one?

Also applying to rice, UVA, Northwestern, maybe Duke (plus a few safeties)

Does this all sound reasonable? Any Advice would be appreciated

Statistically you're right in there with the accepted students. If you decide to apply, I would definitely visit and schedule an interview so that way the admissions counselors know you're not just applying because of the common app. Interviews are non-evaluative and very laid back.

Your stats are good enough, so I'd say it's a match academically, but WUSTL and all the other schools you mentioned above can't really be counted as a "match" by anyone, since admissions are so unpredictable.
If you can visit, it would be great, both to get to see the school, and to "show interest". If you can't, do try to get an alumni interview - WUSTL likes to see a genuine interest from the applicant.
Art supplement is mostly important if you are applying to the School of Art, but if it is good, it can only help, regardless of which school you're applying to.

Thanks, guys. I think I will apply to WashU, even if I'm unlikely to get in-- it looks like an amazing school.
I'm applying to 2 safeties (UMich and Rutgers) where I'd be happy. But is there a good chance that I'll get into at least one of the other schools I listed above?

I think you are likely to get into any of them, just don't count on it as a given, and have a backup plan (which it seems like you do, although I don't know if U Mich is a safety for OOS, but if you apply there early, you'll know soon enough to adjust your strategy if needed).

Thank you all, very encouraging! I just went to a WashU meeting at my school, and only one other person came (my best friend). Haha, seems like no one in my town has ever heard of WashU. nngmm, Umichigan is safe because my mom went there and they seem to care mostly about grades and SATs.
