^ Seriously? .....dramatic sigh, whip of newspaper, continues reading....

No, I just like saying incidenary things :) Most of that post was tounge in cheek and I was actually going to edit it, but oh well.

"Yup....I'm in that < 1%

Trysexual. I'll try anything sexual."

I'll try anything.

Oh now I feel really bad. I wanted to edit that post but it is too late now, in retrospect that was a very unchristian thing to do.

hmm, dunno where i read this, bit heard something about one in four of Yale undergraduates are gay? lol

While we are on this topic, how about other ivies?

I'm only half joking, Invictus.

Don't feel bad, Dbate - everyone has a different value system.

I hear Brown is pretty open to gays, and Cornell has a whole museum dedicated to homo-erotic themes.

Cornell is one of the other schools that mandates homosexual behavior for all incoming freshmen. (But I hear you can opt out for hetero BDSM)

BDSM? That is SO gross.

Some people eat the blood and flesh of their god once a week.

(Remember, different value systems)

Wait what exactly is BDSM? I thought that was like the leather stuff or something or maybe I am completely off.

P.S. It is wine and bread only symbolic of The Blood and Flesh i.e. I am not catholic.

Yeah, basically. BDSM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

About before you know I was joking right? I still feel bad, bc it was so unchristian.

Yeah dude, I know.

You don't really have to feel guilty...at least...I'm not judging you.

Yeah it is my conscience that is bothering me. I have been really uptight about the whole college admission process I think that any bad thing I do will have a negative effect on me kind of like a Christian karma.

On a side note I had my Yale interview today and it was GREAT, it was perfectly how I wanted it to go. Funny tidbit the interviewer had about 1,000 pounds of dog food in your front area no lie, but it was for the humane society.

collegehopefull, I'm sorry I answered so seriously, I would have joined in the fun except I was typing while you posted so even though it looks like I posted after you I started typing before you...I just took a lot of time before I posted it because I was being thoughtful :P MY BAD haha.

So... some of the stuff in that advocate college guide wasn't accurate. We do have a queer resource center (and supposedly it's moving to a better, central campus location in the future). And we have lots of lgbt faculty and administrators. The first gay master was recently appointed in JE college (although health issues have delayed his position). Maria Trumpler, the DUS of the women's, gender, and sexuality studies department, works actively with the administration to support programs like queer peer counseling and the lgbt co-op. Yale offers lots of classes that are relevant to lgbt issues, including a very popular US Lesbian and Gay History class with George Chauncey, a giant in the field. These classes are published in a list by the wgss department every semester.

The perception of yale as a gay college isn't just a rumor from the outside... we talk about ourselves as a gay college all the time. It's very nice.

I thought refering to ppl as queer was offensive?

That was my impression...maybe it's one of those things where you can say it about yourself, but it's offensive when someone else says it about you (?)

You know, like Jew jokes (which I can tell because I'm Jewish, but I willingly admit that I hypocritically hate it when other people tell them)
