It is possible to Double Major at Michigan?

This will determine whether or not I will apply there.

More specifically, if I apply and get accepted, I plan to double major in a science and a social science a College of LSA. I know Michigan has severe restriction on dual degrees, but I couldn't find any info on double majors.

It’s possible to double major here. My friend’s older brother happened to double major in political science and history at Umich.
It might help to keep the two majors related, however, that way you can finish without having to take extra semesters.

Of course. At which schools can you not double major?

you can double major, or you can even pursue dual degrees if you come in with enough credits.

you can even triple major, lol

@giants92: Princeton. :)

@thealbatross: This page scared me: [Office of Undergraduate Admissions: Second Degree](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/prospective/seconddegree.php)

Can someone explain that? ^

@charlieharper: Really? Awesome.

Really? Interesting… I’m surprised I’ve never heard that. What is its rationale?

Look carefully. I think the link you provided is for applicants to UM undergrad that already have a B.S. degree (e.g. you already have a B.S. in Chem at some university and are applying to UM for a B.S. degree in a different field). It’s not for prospective freshman looking to double major; it’s for people that have already gone through college once and are applying to do it again (for whatever reason).

lol that link is for those already with a bachelors.

Double major is fine.

Oh thanks.

Double majoring within the college of LSA is pretty common and manageable.

Double majoring in LSA and Engineering or LSA and Ross is harder but also manageable.

Double majoring in Engineering and Business is much harder.
