Italian Engineering programs. What do you think?

Hi!

I'm really curious to know what you think about Italian engineering programs. Is their teaching organization competitive or even comparable with the American one? Why?

I'm about to start my 3rd year of the 1st level degree (it should be the Bachelor correspondence theoretically), which is also the last one for the 1st level degree. After that I'm unsure about applying somewhere else or going on with my studies in Italy.

I'm following a course with a mix of electrical and mechanical exams and even though I find both extremely interesting, I noticed to be naturally inclined for the mechanical subjects. Nevertheless, I would like to keep studying the application of mechanics in other fields like biology, robotics, electronics, because I like this idea of connection among fields of study and I'm really interested in them as well. It's also true that before or after I need to specialize in something, then I thought that I might deepen my knowledges in mechanics and keep alive the connection with the other mentioned subjects. The point is that I want to find a university the fits my needs and I don't know if italian universities are the best choice.
