Hi, I wanted to ask if any knows how good cell phone reception is in Ithaca/Cornell. Do most cell phone companies generally work well up there, or are there any companies that get particularly good or bad reception up in Ithaca? I’m just curious just in case I might have to switch companies before going up
My son is in his 2nd year at Ithaca College (just a few miles away from Cornell). We have Verizon and he has never complained about his cell service up at school.
Cell phone service is generally fine in most areas in Ithaca regardless of the company. I have Verizon which works great, plenty of people have AT&T which also works great. Many years ago I had Virgin Mobile and I had some trouble getting reception in certain areas. But more than likely you won’t have to switch companies. What company are you currently using?
Only Verizon and AT&T have good connection at Cornell. T-Mobile and Sprint have little to no service, making many students who have them dependent on Cornell’s wifi.
