13 days ;)

its getting way too close way too fast!
but i still cant wait! :P

12 Days! :)

I wish I could join the countdown, but I won't be there with ya'll on the 28th. I was hoping for a medical waiver for shin splints and orthopedic problems, but it didn't come through. Good luck to ya'll during Basic Cadet Training, and just remember to keep a good attitude. Because for every appointment offered there's about 10 people like me who would do anything to be in your shoes.

11 days. Thanks for the support jame3, and best wishes to you in the future :)

Hehehehehe....10 days...."get yer chin IN!"

9 days!

We're down to single digits! :)

Great information and lots of photos of the basics as they go through BCT. It is also updated daily.

8 days!

A week and a wake-up! :)

7 days of freedom left....

How do you all feel knowing that in seven days and a matter of hours from this post that we will be on the hill??

Personally, knowing that I have worked so hard for so long, it's a relief that I'm finally going, and at the same time it's still a shock that it's so close.

Just throwin the question out there... :)

We've been looking forward to going for so long that being this close is really exciting, but also nerve-wracking. And it's hard saying goodbye to everyone here at home. My friends threw me a surprise going away bash at the beach today, which made the bittersweet part of leaving for USAFA more real. Buuuuut... I know I wouldn't be happy going anywhere else!

6 days!!

Ya I completly agree with the bittersweet thing. I know that for me to feel like I lived my life to the fullest I have to go there. But at the same time it is hard saying goodbye to all my friends and family, specially with summer just starting. I'm definatly excited about it and can't wait I-day. I still havent grasped it that I'm going to be the one going through what I watched just a couple days ago on the military channel..crazy!

5 days. Holy cow.

I agree with cdk too. After going to SS and orientation and that show, its the knowledge of some of the things that are to come is what is nerve wracking. But still its awesome! lol. Five days...

And the strangest thing is... this will be our last weekend as civilians for at least nine years...

Yeah that is weird! Our last civilian flight...or drive. lol. Wow, lots of changes!

I'm leaving tonight to visit with family prior to inprocessing. Just wanted to say thanks to all for the advice over the past year. Hopefully, I can get on here in a few months and be just as helpful as the cadets we currently have answering our questions.

See you on I-day, for those in the class of 2011.

For everyone else, "see you on the other side"
