It's Never Too Early (Applicants from the High School Class of 2012)

I got into Smith ED1!

Congrats, those who got in Smith EDI!

As an ED I admitted member of the Smith Class of 2015 congratulations to all ED I admits for the Smith College class of 2016.

@j0cefrdc - Congratulations! :DD

Look for the thread for the class of 2016 results. Post!

Congrats to everyone who got accepted :D

I’m applying RD; waiting all the way until April for those acceptance letters is going to kill me, lol!

@UFO last spring the decisions for RD came out March 25, hopefully nearly the same for this go around. Good luck!

Congrats everyone! I’m in the same boat as you, UFOninja. I have a long, difficult wait ahead of me. However, I had a fantastic interview (it just made me love Smith more!) and I’m going to a local open house and then touring the school in February. I’m just torturing myself :P

Waiting for RD too. Luckily, I have some acceptances from EA to ease the torture, but Smith is tied with Scripps as my top choice and ahdhfkkshdhgjofk…

RDer here too! LOVE smith soo much, but decided to apply RD and hope to get STRIDE. what a wait we have ahead of us… ah well!

I applied RD hoping to maximize my chances for STRIDE (and I love Smith, but I don’t want to lock myself in).

Yeah, we have about 14 to 15 weeks of waiting to do. I think they did inform some RDers earlier last year, however. Not sure if that’s true, might have to do some digging around first.
Also totally did RD for the same thing, CPU.

yep, that was my main reason for applying RD as well. I believe all scholarship recipients and a few other promising applicants get notified in the mail in like mid-march… how nerve-wracking to check the mail every day!

Has anyone got this handbook about writing papers from Smith? They sent one to me after being rejected from the Women of Distinction program and I have no idea if there was any meaning behind it or just “Hey, sorry you didn’t get in, here’s a consolation prize.”

I didn’t get that.

From past threads, smith sends “likely t shirts” in mid feb-mid march; majority (all?) is for STRIDE recipients.

Ah, must be because I mentioned my love for writing then—I think? I don’t exactly remember what I wrote in my application for WoD now. If this is really the case—squee~

‘Likely t-shirts?’ That sounds more appealing than likely letters though I would like that as well.

My D was not accepted to the WoD program, received the writing booklet and was accepted ED to Smith. She doesn’t know why she got the book either but she’s happy to have it.

Thanks for the response, JoMarch4ever. Did she mention any interest in writing in her application to WoD or…?

I wouldn’t read into their intentions with the writing booklet too much. I received the booklet too and I feel pretty confident about my writing skills. Also, I did not mention a interest for writing in my essays.

Alright, cool. Don’t read into them.
