Im all for a more strict honor code but I simply cannot understand why this is such big news though. If this is NOT a dramatic change that affects off campus students, the off campus parties, and those "rights and freedoms", then what was not clear in the first place? Do people ACTUALLY think they are allowed to have kegs, drinking parties, and such in their dorms on campus? Doesn't the university make it clear enough in the contracts on campus students agree to? Why was clarification needed? Was the older honor code originally in some foreign language?

I mean, I know everyone does that stuff anyway but UF doesnt need to waste time in "updating" an honor code as some kind of tactic. What they should do is actually crack down on it and make RA's, Hall Directors, and the Police actually do their jobs.. its not their fault that some people are too stupid to comprehend the rules in the first place.

They simply need to take a stroll down frat row any given Thursday-Saturday night. Making a huge deal about the "change" in the honor code creates national press and is an attempt to get rid of the PR ranking.

I say crack down -- The inmates are running the asylum!

The administration get an "D-" in my book for letting the students go nuts during our 3 National Championships.

SSobick, you gotta expect some partying after winning 3 back-to-back-to-back championships! I'm not even a student and I went nuts all three times.

If there is one exception to be made, it should be for national championships. Hell, the police were probably as excited as the students, or even more so considering they spend their lives here as opposed to 4-8 years

Replying to rnysdaysnmondays..

that is exactly what causes us to be ranked in the first place because everyone knows it wont work and its that big of a problem that they have to "change" the honor code.

UF should just start a speak softly and carry a big stick way of dealing with it but it really doesnt care so it basically gives itself the ranking.

Goufgators,

Of course I was happy as well, and each day was alittle sweeter knowing my boys did something that has never been done in NCAA history. The swagger of the 90's came back when I would talk about my Gators to my friends.

Even still I blame the Vice President of Student Affairs for this Princeton Review black-eye. I have said it before and I will say it again: Telles Irvin is in over her head. We should send her back to the directional university she came from. We need an administrator that will have the ability to tone it down a couple notches.

Every school is going to say no drinking and no kegs. the people who want to do it are still going to do it...it's not like they were telling the admin about their keg parties before they made the rule...

Yeah... right. I'm sure the frats will make sure to follow this rule to the T!

Of course.

Following the rules is what made UF the #1 party school in the first place.
