Its Official!

I'm officially an intended literature-theatre major at Reed College. My deposits in the mail and I'm feeling the relief in finally knowing where I'll be next year. :D

The visit was amazing, and that says something. Right now, I'm incredibly sick. Bronchitis plus a very severe ear infection. However, Monday I was well enough to get up and decided I needed to visit... or else. Time, as ya'll know, is running out. So, I drove four hours down to Portland and was amazed again and again. The neighborhood Reed is in is absolutely beautiful, but its only a hint of how great the campus is. I wandered around for a bit, just sort of soaking up the beauty of it all. Then, I began talking to people and was impressed again and again. That whole bit about "this is where they hid my people" was very very true. The Q&A about HUM just amazed me, listening to the people and all. They were so the sort of people I hang out with and seek out. Lunch was fun, and I enjoyed meeting the other prospies. In short, Reed is everything I dreamed of in a college and I'm honored to be given a chance to attend.

All I can say, is I'm glad that whim to apply hit me. ^_^

:) Big smiles to you W. That decision feels right, doesn't it?

Congratulations, Whitneylm. And I love the line: "This is where they hid my people"! I'm so glad you found your way there.

Congratulations.

Wow, what a great post! I could just feel the enthusiasm and excitement popping off your fingertips and onto the keyboard. What a wonderful result: here's hoping you have a successful and satisfying experience at Reed! Congrats.

Whitneylm~

CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your decision to attend Reed College! What wonderful relief you must be feeling right now! That is so very exciting--big hugs coming your way from KS!! ~berurah

Congratulations! Reed is a great school, and Portland is a great place to live. (I did grow up in Portland, after all--still live nearby...) I'm glad to hear you found a place you feel at home!

Thank you everyone! I'm eternally impressed at the support I've recieved! This is such a great forum, and one I definitely wish I'd found earlier in the game.

I know I made the right decision, because I felt no regrets whatsoever when I sent out all those little "reply cards" to the colleges I had to say "no" to. I also sent out two personalized e-mails to the adcoms I'd dealt with the most. All in all though, there's a definite satisfaction that I could not feel about Linfield... no matter how hard I tried. I guess what they say about "fit" is true. ^.^

I am so happy for you - congratulations! Reed is every bit as lucky to get YOU as you are to get Reed. Best of luck and do come back and let us know how much you love it in the fall!

congratuations-
dont worry about your summer reading yet- stop in and say hi to my daughter at CUS ( computer building) during O-week.

One of my daughters best friends is graduating next month in theatre- he spent last summer in Oxford( cambridge?- London anyway) and is moving to New york city after graduation.
that boy has big plans.

if you see us say hi- we will be with a black lab named Sadie ;)

Congratulations, Reed is a different and amazing school. A good choice.

So happy for you, Whitney! Good luck at Reed- sounds like you've found the perfect school for you!

Congrats. My best friend lives on Reed College Place just blocks from campus-beautiful area.

Great to hear this kind of story where it all works out in the end.

Whitney,

Congratulations and best wishes for your undergrad years at Reed.

Best of luck ... and congratulations! It must feel great to have made a decision! (And of course, the right one!)

You have found a "love match" college. Bravo!
